The only complain I have with this watch is that the alarm ... isn't. In other words, you can set the alarm but the sound is so soft that you'll won't hear it, even in a quiet environment. As with the alarm, neither will you hear the hourly chimes. If you're hoping to use this watch to wake you from a nap, or even let you know when lunch is over, forget it.
This is not unique with my watch. I took a three-hour drive to the nearest Dakota Watch Kiosk and tried several of their watches. Every single watch regardless of the model has this problem.
Aside from that. this is a really good form factor. I enjoy the sturdy clip, the weight of the watch and general appearance. The watch keeps time as good as any digital. I've been able to use the countdown timer and the stopwatch simultaneously. The buttons are responsive.
There are view cosmetic features that have been written about by other reviewers which you should be aware of.
1) an analog bezel that doesn't turn. Not sure why you'd want it to turn on a digital watch, but it has been noted.
2) a magnetic compass that doesn't work. The instructions clearly state the compass is just for looks.
Dakota has other watches that will fill your directional needs. But not this watch.
Bottom line, I like the watch but wish I could hear the alarm. The watch lost a lot of value for me as a result. I still use the watch. I totally enjoy not having something hanging on my wrist that keeps very accurate time.
Just in case you're listening, Dakota Watches; I'd enjoy being your ginny pig if you redesign this watch with a louder alarm.
I don't like to wear a wrist watch, or take the time to find my cell phone to see what time it is. I hang this off my belt loop, which makes it very easy to see the time. I originally had a cheap plastic clip watch which gave out after a few years. I found this one on Amazon. I would definitely recommend this watch.
